Souvenir Coin from the Crypte Archeologique Paris 33mm, minted at Monnaies de Paris depicting Julian II (CE 360-363) who was chosen emperor by acclamation of his troops on Ile de la Cite in CE 360. Many of the extant ruins date to the 4th century CE and might have been familiar to this interesting historical figure.
The Quayside during the 4th and 5th centuries reconstructed. The island was much smaller at that time which placed the shoreline further inland than it appears now.
